The Union Church has been part of the district for a very long time and from the time of its conception and construction has been a focal point for the local community.
The Church was officially opened on 12th May 1912 by Mrs W. H. Kelynack using a chased silver key engraved with the date and which was presented to her.
The community was informed in 2012 by the former committee, that the Church and entire property is was to be sold. After a long campaign with community support the sale was blocked.
This recognised the significance of the original Declaration-of-Trust which our forebears had the foresight to put in place back in 1914.
In 2023 the Church was returned to the Community.
A new Trustee was appointed, managed by members of the local community, and the Church and Hall are now in regular use by locals and groups from other areas.
The attempted sale by the former committee cost the community over $150,000 and hours of time.
